Revelations 2 - Sibling Understanding
‘Then why are you here? I thought we fight each other!’ He said, fully revealing himself. I recognised him immediately, much to my surprise.
‘Wait, Toby?’
‘What? How do you know my name?’ My brother asked, backing off.
I replied by simply changing to my original form, causing another gasp of surprise as he finally recognised me.
‘Ollo? Are you a Kämpfer too?’
‘No.’
‘Then how did you change?’
‘I am a Jaeger, we can transform into Kämpfers that we kill. I’m sorry.’
‘If you’re not her, then you must have lied! And what is a Jaeger?R
As we perch in our hiding places, we see the combat below. Two Kämpfers, in a duel to the death, red vs. blue in epic battle. These are our targets. As I focus, everything apart from my prey fades into the background becoming little more than shades in a world entirely given over to me and the two Kämpfers. Everyone else is moving around to completely enclose the area.
Then we strike – the seven of us moving as one, tightening the noose around them and going in for the kill. A shout, and the blue starts running, dodging past the Joneses and escaping. They both split off from the main group to chase her down. Of the fight again

I am finally a full member of the order and a brother to all other Jaegers. My halberd has lost the axe-head and the blade has lengthened. I have also become faster and stronger - I assume this is because of the Kämpfer – I cannot think of her as an enemy anymore – I killed. I am to be posted to Suffolk in order to hunt down any more Kämpfers there.
Her face, it was so peaceful after she died. She understood her death, I know that now, but she was still afraid. Seeing her eyes just go blank, seeing all traces of life disappear was a terrible sight. Will every kill affect me this way? If so, I must find ano

Her eyes still haunt me. Is it wrong to pity or mourn a dead enemy? Some say yes, and that I must honour those I fought, while others say that to pity an enemy is impure and evil. Her last words were ‘Make it stop, please, just stop the fighting for me.’ Those words have been all I have thought about in my time in the med bay, recovering. I have been plagued by nightmares, all of those repeating the same moment in my sleep. Was I wrong to kill her? Should I have found another way to end it? The hopelessness I saw, she knew she was about to die, and for nothing. Nothing at all.

I have discovered the main differences between us and the Kämpfers. While both groups have forms in which they can access their powers, but while the Kämpfers use female forms, we Jaegers only have male forms. Also, while the Kämpfers are stronger than us, if a Jaeger manages to kill one, his weapon will improve based on the power of the Kämpfer. You would also be able to assume both of their forms afterwards.
The final test – I have discovered what it is – is a Hunt with the six other novices and those who survive and kill their prey – a Kämpfer – are to become full Jaegers.

Recently began specialist combat training with the halberd, my chosen weapon. Jaeger combat training and sparring is almost completely freestyle and no holds barred, except for one rule – no permanent injury must be dealt to my opponent.
The three types of disciplines used by the Kämpfers are the Zauber, who use magic, the Gewehr, who solely use firearms and the Schwert, close combat specialists using blades of all kinds. The way to combat each type are as follows. For Zauber, a head-on assault will serve against these most of the time, as their projectile can be easily dodged or deflected, but this will not work aga

Have been chosen by the Jaegers. How do I know this? Last week, I discovered an envelope addressed to me containing this letter:
Orlando, we have considered this carefully and you are to become a champion of good and one of those sworn to end the endless war - a Jaeger. You must travel to the return address on the envelope as soon as possible.
We are the sworn enemies of the Kampfers.
We are the sole masters of our chosen weapons.
As we endure hardship we only grow stronger.
As we give no mercy, and expect none.
WE ARE THE JAEGERS – WE FIGHT TO END THE GREAT GAME.

Legacy of the Jaeger Prologue
As I lie here bleeding in the mud, I remember all I have done in the name of justice and peace. I have fought and killed, I have been both hunter and prey and I have slain an Oberste, but in that act, I fear that I have also killed myself. The first Kämpfer I killed, she is in my mind, but she is no longer dying, she is alive and well, her eyes full of happiness and thanks. I am the last of the Jaegers, a brotherhood of war devoted to the ruin of the Moderators, the hunters of the Kämpfers, emissaries of the two empires joined in the fires of battle.
